Conditions were arranged so that children who were given a delayed test did not, in fact, expect that they would be tested on the article. The scores which these children made on the test are , in , on the top row Table 3. It will be that children who took the test immediately scored an of correct. Children who did not take the test until the following scored , namely, percent. Children who did not take the test until - days later scored percent. These results illustrate the general finding that forgetting is rapid after learning, and then proceeds less and less as time goes on.
