A couple of weeks after writing the reference, you happen to meet one of the Pharmabeta staff in charge of selecting the new man. As you are trying to catch the attention of the barmaid, you vaguely discuss how business is going. Robin will arrive in a few minutes. Now you find you are being informally asked for information. Pharmabeta have already interviewed Robin and liked him a lot. The man wants reassurance that he has made the right judgment of Thornton. He says: 'That guy's one in a million. You must be mad to let him go.' What do you reply? |
